KCPerformance is known for optimizing the performance of a car by custom chiptuning, custom turbo kits, race engines with custom connecting rods and pistons,... but we can also tune small eco cars. You can see more and more of these eco cars with lower taxes on the road, often they have a few cylinders less and less cubic inches but most of them have a turbo and turbo engines have more potential then a naturally aspirated engine. We can also delete the DPF or close the EGR system so that the car uses less fuel and can still pass the technical inspection.
That is why this Fiat Punto Evo came to us. With it's 1.3 JTD Mulitjet engine it is fiscally very interesting, but it does have a lack of power to drive pleasant and smooth. This customer knew that deleting the DPF was a smart thing to do before it can create engine problems. He also knew about the EGR system and all the trouble it can cause, so we had to close it.
We removed the DPF from under the car and emptied it. We installed everything back and deleted all the DPF related errors from the software. The EGR valve was also closed through the software. Because a bit more power is always welcome we updated the software to a KCPerformance stage 1 chiptune to raise the ouput of the engine from 85hp to 118hp and the torque was raised from 200Nm to 256Nm.
After picking up his car the owner was very happy with the work we performed, his car is now reliable because of the DPF delete and closed EGR and the ride is more pleasant because of the boost in power.
