Distribution & Timing chain/belt
A (car) engine consists of several components. The rotating part of the motor is connected by the distribution. This means that the camshaft and crankshaft are connected with each other by the distribution. The distribution can be built up in a number of ways, by means of a belt, chain or gears, or a combination of both. It can be that the distribution also drives other aggregates such as, for example, the water pump and power steering.
The distribution should convey the force between the camshaft and crankshaft. Depending on the selected components, it is wise to replace the components or at a specified interval mileage and age. For the timing chain is true that it has a longer maintenance interval, however, here is that we recommend to adjust the interval of changing oil, in order to maintain the chain longer. If you have problems with your distribution or you just want it to be replaced, then KCPerformance is happy to help you!
